About The Instructor
Janice Clark completed her undergraduate degree in Music Education with piano as her performing instrument at San Francisco State University in 1970. Her primary piano teacher was Istvan Nadas ( a pupil of Bela Bartok). She continued to be coached through the 1980s and 1990s by such fine pianists as William Corbett-Jones and Sylvia Jenkins. Her must recent studies include harpsichord and baroque performance practice with the outstanding Bay Areas baroque specialist and founder of Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Laurette Goldberg and the renowned harpsichordist Arthur Haas. Other post-graduate studies have been at University of California, Berkeley, San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Eastman School of Music, in Rochester, New York. Ms Clark has performed as soloist, accompanist, church organ, choral director and with chamber ensembles as pianist and harpsichordist. Ms Clark is the former Music Director & Concert Master of the Tridentine Latin Mass for the Archdiocese of San Francisco.
